The Florida Real Estate Commission (FREC) has recently made changes to advertising rules for teams and groups. It’s important to begin addressing these changes now, as the deadline for compliance is July 1, 2019! You can read the full text of the regulation here.
There are two key changes affecting real estate teams that you need to be aware of. The first is a rule that affects all teams: a team name may not be larger than the broker name or logo in advertising (paragraph 6). The second change prohibits certain words from being used in team names (paragraph 4).
The FREC regulation affects all forms of advertising including business cards, print/digital ads, yard signs and websites. All teams must be in full compliance by July 1, 2019.
